On the morning of October 2, 2015, Harry Sult went Home to be with the Lord. He passed surrounded by loved ones and loving caregivers at the Village of Rosebush Manor in Rosebush, MI.

Harry was born in Oil City, MI on October 18, 1922, the fourth child of Robert and Pearl. Early on, Harry’s sunny disposition and happy demeanor won him the nickname “Hap,” which he continued to be called by family and friends during his adulthood.  As a young man in Port Huron, Harry learned the trade of carpentry and homebuilding. Carrying this trade with him throughout his life, Harry was known for his well-built homes and finely crafted carpentry.

Besides being a homebuilder and carpenter, Harry also served in the Army during World War II.

After the War, Harry married the love of his life, Betty in August of, 1945. Harry and Betty were married for 64 years. Living in DeWitt, MI, Harry and Betty raised four children: Larry, Donald, Darrell, and Patricia. During this time, Harry worked for General Motors and continued his homebuilding and carpentry trade.

After their children were grown and married, the Sults moved to Rosebush, MI. There, the grandchildren have memories of Grandpa tinkering with carpentry in the workshop and working in his garden. The couple lived there together until Betty’s death in 2009, when Harry continued to live in Rosebush independently. Both were members of Rosebush Presbyterian Church.

Harry is preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his brothers, Alvin and Ernest; and, his sister, Bobbie (Perry).
